Brad Schechter was born and raised in Greenwich village NYC; he started playing music at a very young age with his father who was also a professional musician.

When he was 21 years old he went on tour to Europe with a rock & roll band from NY. After 6 years of almost non-stop touring he took up permanent residence in Switzerland where he spent 18 years playing drums, guitar, keyboards, singing and teaching from his own school “Brad’s music academy”.

In the summer of 2009 he moved back to the USA and he quickly became part of the local south Florida music scene  doing a solo act playing guitar, steel drum, ukulele and singing, as well as filling in on drums for some of the local bands including “Big Vince & the Phat Cats. In the summer of 2010 the Phat Cats found themselves looking for a new drummer and asked Brad to join the band; he graciously accepted and has been playing with band ever since!

In addition to playing live Brad is also a full time music teacher giving drum, guitar, piano & ukulele lessons.

He also gives private lessons in his students homes.
